Hosted by the Preservation Alliance of Alamance County at the historic Glencoe Cotton Mills site, the Textiles and Tar Heels festival celebrates North Carolina’s rich textile heritage. Step back in time with Piedmont Fibershed as they showcase the traditions of early American textiles through natural dyes sourced from across the Americas. At their demo table, visitors will see how local natural fibers have long been at the heart of our region’s story. Echoing the craftsmanship of the 19th century, Piedmont Fibershed connects these heritage dye practices to the land and communities of the Piedmont today. Come explore the textures of history and discover how the threads of the past continue to shape North Carolina’s textile story.
